OOAK American Girl Doll - Chinese New Year Princess - Mei

Introducing Mei, my one-of-a-kind Chinese New Year princess. Pronounced "MAY", (美) her name means "beauty" in Chinese and reflects her love of nature. Mei was inspired by the folklore of the Chinese zodiac, with 2026 being the year of the Fire Horse. 

In designing Princess Mei, I began with a gently preloved American Girl doll with the adorable Jess face sculpt. Beautiful amber brown eyes (from Lila) were installed and a complete face up was given using professional art materials. Mei's new face paint features feathered eyebrows, wispy eyelashes, rosy blush, soft lips, and skin contouring. Although all artwork has been sealed and has UV protection, this doll should be handled gently.

Her luscious jet black wig is by Bbeautydolls.com. It is heat safe and tangle resistant. To maintain the style, mist with water and gently brush. Her ears are pierced to fit AG earrings.

Mei will arrive in her handmade ensemble reflecting the lovely traditional Chinese hanfu dress style. The robe is sewn of a rich red satin brocade with golden flowers and lined in gold taffeta. The colors symbolize good fortune and prosperity. The shimmering white lower dress has metal snap closure in back. Her flowing separate sleeves are secured with elastic. The beaded belt ties in back with ribbon. Also included are her head piece, jewelry, and golden sandals. The beadwork incorporates premium Japanese gold beads, ruby red glass crystals, golden metal beads, and pearls. The necklace closes with a magnetic clasp.

Ready to celebrate the Spring Festival, Mei will be accompanied by her sweet little horse, Chun. Pronounced "Chwun", (春) her name means "spring".

I have customized this doll in my smoke-free, pet-free studio. She has been thoroughly cleaned and restrung. Her limbs are tight and poseable. There are light marks/shines/rubs on the vinyl from handling. Her Artist's Certificate of Authenticity is included.
