Custom Japanese American Girl Doll - Akemi

Akemi is ready to celebrate springtime and Japan's cherry blossom festival. Her name means "beautiful beginning". 曙美

Akemi was created from a gently preloved American Girl doll. I have given her beautiful brown repainted eyes and a complete face up using professional art materials. Her special features include feathered eyebrows, wispy eyelashes, coral blush, and rosy lips. Although all artwork has been sealed and has UV protection, this doll should be handled gently. 

Her new luscious wavy black wig was designed by Bbeauty. It has been permanently attached with craft contact adhesive. The hair fibers are heat safe and tangle resistant. To maintain the style, mist with water and gently brush.

Akemi will arrive in her handmade yukata, designed especially for her. This ensemble is sewn of cotton fabric featuring cherry blossoms and moon rabbits. The obi sash closes in back with hook and loop tape. She also has a matching drawstring purse and flower bouquet. Her handmade wooden geta sandals are secured with ribbon and elastic bands. Her hair ornaments are silk cherry blossoms and beaded dangles. 

I have customized this doll in my smoke-free, pet-free studio. Her body has been replaced with one from American Fashion World. (It is almost identical to American Girl.)  Her limbs are tight and poseable. Her Artist's Certificate of Authenticity is included.
